Main Tourist seasons in Tunisia
High season |
From July to early September. This is the peak travel season in Tunisia. During this period you can expect Tunisian resorts and seaside destinations to be at their highest tourist density. Main northern cities, markets, Medinas and museums will be teeming with tourists. At this time, wandering in tight Medina streets might not be ideal for all people. The south of Tunisia, and notably the Saharan desert, are expectedly very hot and limit excursions in the desert to a few hours per day. |

Mid season |
From mid September to November and from March to June. This time of the year is perhaps the absolute best time for a round-the-country, all-inclusive package tour of Tunisia. You can visit the mountains, swim in the warm sea and spend a couple of days in the desert. Temperatures are balanced across the country, never too hot and never too cold. This is probably the best time to go and visit Tunisia. Visitor levels are average, hotel rates have dropped and restaurants may not need reservations. Car rentals are readily available and any additional personal requirements can usually be booked at relatively late notice. Between October and mid December, is an ideal time to visit the Sahara desert and its surrounding oases. It is the start of the date harvest season in many parts of South Tunisia, which offers great opportunity to taste the best dates in the world, pride of Tunisia. |

Low Season |
From mid December to februar, it can get cold and rainy in the north and quite cool at night in the south. It is still a great time to come and visit Tunisia, but it will depend on the types of activities and sites that you wish to discover.
